Our client are a well established Building Management Systems and Energy Services specialist.

Originally a Trend BMS specialist, they now provide BMS and Energy specialist services to Corporate, NHS and Retail clients within the London/South East area.

Our client had won a large contract to provide energy management solutions to a prestigious property management business with a significant portfolio of London real estate. The work to be provided was based around BEMS optimisation, Metering, Monitoring & Targeting and ongoing energy projects.

A significant problem was finding someone with the required skill set, who would be able to impress both our clients and the Head of Energy within the end client, a particularly demanding individual.

Initially we set out to create a long list of potential candidates via various methods, including Market Research, Social Media, and referral from our existing network of contacts.

One of our long term contacts recommended an Energy Solutions Architect, working for one of the worlds largest manufacturers. Upon initial contact it was clear he was both very strong, and very passionate about delivering energy savings to clients. He also had significant frustrations with his current employer. The one problem was that he was very well paid, and achieving a pay rise would not be possible were he to move. This was clearly explained to the candidate at the earliest stage.

After a 3 interview process, including one interview directly with the Head of Energy working for the end clients, we were able to negotiate an offer that came as close to the candidates current package as was possible.The challenge and variety of the role was enough to seal the deal, even with a slight pay reduction.

Despite the frustrations of a 3 month enforced notice period, the candidate was delighted to start his new role in mid 2016. All feedback from the client to date has been extremely positive.
