We offer a range of client services to suit the differing requirements and expectations of our customers. Rest assured that whatever level of service you opt for, you will always receive professionalism, expertise and integrity from your first contact with Facilitas Recruitment.

Our retained recruitment solution involves the client paying a portion of the fee upfront, with the balance paid upon completion of the assignment, when the candidate starts. This shows a level of commitment from the client to find the right person, not just the first CV that lands in your inbox. We still take on the majority of the risk, as most of our fee is contingent upon a successful outcome for you.

We thoroughly recommend that clients consider retaining a recruiter in 3 scenarios.

  1. For senior level hires (Strategic & Director level roles)

  2. Whenever you are looking for discretion over a sensitive hire

  3. When you need a guaranteed result and transparency in the search process

Retained recruitment is almost always preferable to contingency in all scenarios apart from where the role is speculative in nature, or subject to change.

Benefits of retaining Facilitas Recruitment:

Higher quality

When we are retained, we work solely on your role until it is filled. You can consider your initial deposit as a payment to take us away from all other assignments in order to prioritise your needs. This means we effectively become an outsourced part of your business. We do not have to juggle numerous assigments. To put this into context, if your contingency recruiter is working on 10 live roles, you are likely only getting 4 hours of his attention per week, rather than 40+ if you retain a trusted partner. We have also found that a benefit of retaining us is quicker time to hire, as we are dedicating every working hour to filling your role, rather than a small portion of each day.

Save Time

When retained, we will undertake initial interviews, having co-designed initial screening questions with you at the job-spec stage. This means you will be able to jump straight into a second interview scenario, with all of our first interview notes. We find that this saves you approximately 1 hour per candidate approached, which can add up to a significant portion of your working week. Working with one trusted partner also allows you to deal with just one recruiter throughout the process, saving time & administration.

Discretion

When looking for a strategic hire, a Director, or a replacement for a current member of staff, our clients value a discreet approach. Our retained solution is completely bespoke, and typically offers a far higher level of discretion than you will get from employing multiple contingency recruiters. This discretion is also significantly important when recruiting for senior talent that is likely to be working for your competition.

Transparency

For all retained assignments we work on, we will provide a twice weekly update of where we are in the process. We will inform you of how many people we have targeted, how many people we have spoken to, the general feedback from the market with regard your role.

Protect your brand

Assigning 5 different recruiters to each role has the disadvantage of damaging your brand. With 5 different recruiters, of differing quality, telling 5 different stories often to the same candidates, your business can appear to be disorganised, and this also cheapens the quality of the opportunity. By working with one recruiter, approving the target list of candidates, and approving the job spec and message that is being relayed, you can be assured that your business is being marketed throughout the process, not damaged.

We would recommend a thorough discussion, and face to face meeting before entering into retained recruitment. Please call 01737 333081 to talk further.

Where we work on a contingency basis (fee paid upon completion), we usually ask for some level of exclusivity.

The reason behind this is that with 14 years experience across the Built Environment, we have a significant number of clients. As a result we would rather not be asked to be “first past the post” with a CV, which inveriably involves us talking to candidates who have heard about your opportunity from a variety of sources.

When operating on an exclusive contingency basis, we are taking all the risk, but will dedicate ourselves to finding candidates that match the brief you have given us. It will also protect your brand, with candidates only hearing about your opportunity from one source.

We cannot stress enough how much we recommend hiring one recruiter to work on your role. Even if we are not your chosen partner, we would recommend you stick with one recruiter per role.

We also recommend that you do not necessarily use the same recruiter for each role you need filling.

This is the standard recuitment service you will be used to. You pay only upon successful completion of an assignment, typically once the candidate starts in his new role.

Contingency recruitment is well suited to 2 particular situations:

  • You, the Client, have your own recuitment team, and/or are advertising the role with a reasonable expectation of success

  • The role is not vital to the business, or subject to change/cancellation

As mentioned, we do not recommend placing a role with multiple agencies, as you will likely only get a very small level of effort from each one.
